As indicated by the name of the campground, we are a family owned and operated business with strong ties to our community. It is our ambition to keep this campground a family-oriented place for our visitors from near and far to enjoy a welcoming environment where our family calls home. Whether you stay at Dogwood Family Campground for a short or extended term or visit the campground for an event, you will likely encounter the family that runs the campground, so we would like to introduce ourselves now. Shawn and Lisa Parks are the husband and wife team that have been in the landscaping, grading and excavating business here locally for 35 plus years now. Their daughter, Renee, who now has a family of her own, is married to Andy Baker, and they have two children, Hadley and Harvey. With one exception, this entire group is born and raised in North Carolina. As usual, Shawn has to be the rebel with his roots originating in West Virginia.
With the numerous years that Shawn and Lisa have been in the contracting business as well as 20 plus years of RV’ing the eastern half of the country, it seemed to be a perfectly natural transition to get this family involved and build a campground here in Eastern North Carolina. Renee and Andy have been very involved with the planning, construction and marketing of the campground, Renee continues with the marketing. Hadley and Harvey get very excited when they visit the campground. One of their favorite things to do is ride the property on their battery operated 4 wheeler and tell Nanny and Papah what needs to be done next.
Our family is very excited to have the opportunity to build this family campground and hope that you and your family can come join in our excitement as a welcomed guest of Dogwood Family Campground.
